The No Interest Loan Scheme offers people on low incomes safe, fair and affordable loans for fridges, washing machines, furniture, computers as well as sports/educational, medical expenses and more.


Payment plans are flexible and customised to applicants’ financial circumstances. A budget will be completed to ensure repayments are affordable.

Eligibility Requirements:


  • Have a Health Care/Pension Card or earn less than $45,000 (after tax)

  • Show a willingness and capacity to repay


Documentation Required:


  • Completed NILS Application Form (download here)

  • Recent Centrelink Income Statement/pay slips (yourself and your partner)

  • Recent bank statement or transactions for the past 90 days (yourself and partner)

  • Rental ledger/statement/mortgage statement showing recent rent/repayments

  • Council rates, strata bills if home-owner

  • Quotes for goods or services

  • Details/statements of any credit commitments such as loans, credit cards, fines, rent to buy etc

  • Copies of most recent energy, water, phone bills

  • Proof of identity (must include one photo ID, ie Driver’s License, Passport etc)

  • Alternate contact person details (name, email and phone)

  • Details of household expenditure eg groceries, rates, car running costs etc​
